Know which assets are dark before the shift starts

Solstice Utilities needs critical buildings green before the day shift. Amber Field Systems needs to know which regions missed their overnight upload window. Discovering darkness from the first customer call is already too late.

Without Dataplicity

Someone scrolls a device list at 07:00 and hopes. Offline counts mix maintenance, flakes, and real site loss. Nobody owns the morning signal.

With Dataplicity

  1. Open fleet inventory filtered to production sites or regions that matter for the shift.
  2. Trust monitors, not eyeballs - critical-site any-offline for Solstice; check-in or offline-ratio monitors tagged by region for Amber’s sparse gateways.
  3. Route the signal into alerts or incidents so the on-call owns it before the phone rings.
  4. Keep the wallboard honest - morning awareness only; action stays on monitors and incidents. See Design the wallboard for who walks past it.

Outcome

Dark assets are a shift-start fact with an owner - not a surprise in the support queue.
