Tell the customer what is true without the shell #

Harbor Retail’s brand partner wants to know if stores are up for open. Polar Freight wants calm facts during a corridor event while Northstar investigates. Neither should see a terminal, another customer’s devices, or an internal NOC layout.

Without Dataplicity #

Support pastes screenshots into email. Status is tribal. Or someone points a hallway TV at the ops dashboard and hopes redaction holds.

With Dataplicity #

  1. Separate surfaces - internal dashboards and Displays for ops; status pages for what customers should believe.
  2. Publish only reviewed monitors and incidents - selected service truth, not every device flake.
  3. Design the customer Display (if used) for one audience’s daily question - Harbor’s “are our stores up?” - never the OEM’s full estate. See Design the wallboard for who walks past it.
  4. Keep diagnostics private - Remote Shell, Wormhole, and raw logs stay on the support path.

Outcome #

Customers get a trustworthy altitude without credentials to your ops tools.
